Birds of Paradise are my favourite flowers! I initially saw them flourish in gardens in Mauritius, however later found out that they are endemic to South Africa. The shape of these flowers has always intrigued me as they look like a snapshot of soaring birds in flight. The colours are enthralling too: shades of yellow, orange, green, purple and dark blue form riveting colour blocks. SubhanAllah! Allah’s creation is truly amazing!

Painted on hot pressed 300gsm, 100% cotton, Moulin du Roy watercolour paper.
